Motor Brush

Motor brushes carry current to the rotating armature of a DC motor through sliding contact, and they are a normal wear item on electric forklift drive motors, pump motors, and hoist motors. Worn brushes show up as reduced motor power, sparking at the commutator, and eventual failure to start. Fleet shops servicing electric forklifts replace brushes on schedule and during motor inspection, since running brushes down to the holder damages the commutator. Reference AC4932276 when ordering.
