Forklift Tire Types

Press-On Solid Tires

The most common forklift tire for indoor warehouse use. Press-on solid tires are maintenance-free, puncture-proof, and available in smooth or traction tread patterns. Ideal for electric forklifts and reach trucks operating on smooth concrete floors.

Pneumatic Tires

Air-filled tires with deep tread for outdoor applications. Pneumatic tires provide the best ride comfort and traction on rough surfaces like gravel, dirt, and broken pavement. Used on IC (internal combustion) forklifts in lumber yards, construction sites, and outdoor storage.

Solid Pneumatic Tires

Puncture-proof alternative to air-filled pneumatic tires. Solid pneumatic tires have the same tread pattern and fitment as standard pneumatics but cannot go flat. Best for applications with debris, nails, or rough terrain where punctures are a risk.

Cushion Tires

Low-profile solid rubber tires that sit directly on the rim. Cushion tires offer a tight turning radius and low center of gravity, making them ideal for narrow-aisle warehouse work. Not suitable for outdoor or uneven surfaces.

Polyurethane Wheels

High-durability wheels for pallet jacks, load wheels, and caster applications. Polyurethane resists chunking and flat-spotting better than standard rubber. Available in various durometers for different load capacities.

Forklift Tire FAQ

What types of forklift tires do you carry?

We stock press-on solid tires, pneumatic (air-filled) tires, solid pneumatic (puncture-proof) tires, cushion tires, and polyurethane wheels. We also carry load wheels and steer wheels for pallet jacks.

How do I know which forklift tire size I need?

Check the sidewall of your current tire for the size marking (e.g., 21x7x15, 18x7-8, 16x5x10-1/2). You can also find tire specs in your forklift operator manual or contact us with your forklift model and we will look it up.

What is the difference between cushion and pneumatic forklift tires?

Cushion tires are solid rubber, sit closer to the ground, and work best on smooth indoor surfaces like warehouse floors. Pneumatic tires (air-filled or solid pneumatic) have deeper tread and handle outdoor surfaces like gravel, asphalt, and uneven ground.

How often should forklift tires be replaced?

Replace forklift tires when tread is worn to the wear line, chunking or tearing is visible, the tire has flat spots, or the forklift becomes unstable. Most forklift tires last 2,000-2,400 hours depending on surface conditions and load weight.

Do you offer tire pressing services?

We supply the tires; for pressing we recommend working with a local forklift service provider. Press-on tires require a hydraulic press for installation. Contact us and we can recommend service partners in the LA/OC area.
