Rear Crankshaft Seal
This rear seal rides on the crankshaft flange behind the flywheel and prevents oil leakage from the rear of the engine into the bellhousing. Engine rebuilders replace it during every bottom-end rebuild and any clutch or torque converter service, since accessing the seal otherwise requires pulling the transmission. A leaking rear seal contaminates clutch facings and shortens torque converter life. Sold as an aftermarket replacement, contact us to verify crankshaft flange diameter and bore dimensions before ordering, since rope, lip, and split seals are not interchangeable and incorrect seal selection guarantees failure within the first run cycle.
