Silicone Front Seal
This silicone front seal rides on the crankshaft snout and seals the timing cover against oil leakage, an upgrade over older nitrile seals on engines that run hot or see long PTO duty. Engine rebuilders install silicone seals during front-cover service when the original has hardened, cracked, or grooved the crankshaft. Skipping the seal during a timing job almost guarantees a return visit. Sold as an aftermarket replacement, contact us to verify crankshaft diameter and bore measurements before ordering, since silicone and nitrile seals in similar sizes have different installation procedures and lubrication requirements.
